Electrify Montrose promotes the reduction of fossil fuels as a source of energy in our lives by encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles, appliances, and home utilities to improve air quality and create a healthy and efficient community.

About

About Us

We are a group of Montrose City and County residents and small business owners with a shared passion for green alternatives to energy production such as solar and geothermal. We're not hippies—well, some of us are—we are simply interested in improving our home and community environments by electrifying our homes and vehicles.

Atlasta Solar Center is a valuable, trusted partner and, without them, our mission could not succeed.

What Does an All-Electric Lifestyle Look Like?

Look at What Your Neighbors are Already Doing!

Looking back at our accomplishments for 2025:

1. Atlasta Solar Center agreed to be our partner and offer their financial support as well as sharing their wealth of information and knowledge.

2. We did a very successful launch event on Earth Day in April called Electrify Expo. There were about 35 attendees and vendors from Atlasta Solar Center, Tri-River Appliances, and Hellman Motors.

Also, we recruited 4 new members!

3. Worked with the DMEA board concerning offering energy rebates again. They are considering our requests.

4. Did educational outreach presentations to about 30 attendees each to the:

    • Montrose Democratic Party

    • Montrose Rotary Club

5. Attended the Montrose Farmers Market several times and also the Home Expo along with Atlasta Solar where we gave away over 100 yo-yos and free educational materials.

6. Also celebrated Sun Day at the Farmers Market, which is a national day of action held on the fall equinox , celebrating solar and wind power, and the movement to leave fossil fuels behind. We offered free rides in an all-electric and/or plug-in hybrid vehicle and gave away free books about moving to an all-electric lifestyle and the importance of energy efficiency.

7. Launched our website which has great information and resources as you can see.

8. Moved into our beautiful new meeting site at Hope West which we are so grateful for!
